The Centre is a welcoming community space offering affordable food, social opportunities, and free activities for residents of all ages. From hot meals and social meet-ups to holiday activities and support services, there’s something for everyone here.














Community Café
Every Monday | 12–2pm
Our volunteer-run Café serves jacket potatoes and a weekly special, including a vegetarian option, plus dessert and unlimited hot drinks.
- Operates on a Pay What You Can basis to ensure accessibility.
- Volunteers hold food hygiene certificates.
- Works with Assist Trust to offer people with Special Educational Needs (SEN) opportunities to socialise and gain work experience.
The perfect place to meet friends and neighbours — whether for a snack and a cuppa or a full, wholesome meal.
The Phoenix Lounge
Every Tuesday | 12–2pm
A friendly space to meet friends and enjoy light meals such as sandwiches and soups, along with tea and coffee. Whether you’re popping in for a relaxed lunch or a catch-up over a cuppa, everyone is welcome.
The Phoenix Larder
Monday 11am – 1pm & Friday 10am–12pm
Thanks to funding from Norfolk Community Foundation, The Phoenix Larder provides household essentials at very low prices.
- Open to everyone; registration required (forms available on request).
- Crisis bags available for emergencies.
- Surplus food donations distributed every Friday morning.
Centre for Warmth – Cadent Gas Ltd Partnership
The Centre helps residents stay safe and warm at home.
- Free carbon monoxide alarms and heated blankets.
- Guidance on the Priority Services Register (PSR) — support for carers, families with children under 5, people with chronic illness, and pensioners.

School Holiday Packed Lunches
Every day except Wednesdays | 11:30am–1:30pm
Free packed lunches for children during school holidays, including:
- Filled roll
- Drink
- Piece of fruit
- Packet of crisps
- Small treat
School Holiday Activities
Free holiday activities for children aged 0–11 years (adult/guardian supervision required).
We have worked with Norwich Samba, Ruddy Muddy, Norwich Men’s Shed, Crazy Colin, Bert’s Amazing Creatures, and more. Larger community events, in partnership with MX PEG (Mile Cross Projects and Events Group), have included: Galley Hill Dash and A Very Merry Mile Cross Christmas
